Is $500 a fair price for a 2001 VW Jetta?

ok...so i went to the dealer today and asked to get my 2001 vw jetta gl with 108,450 miles with a salvaged title appraised and they told me that they would only give me $500 for it. what i want to know, is if thats a fair price for it?
