What do you think of my writing?

I like the clical references and the imagery. You're not depressed and bleak which is rare, but very good. One suggestion I would make though, and this is about the references, try to keep them from becoming too pedestrian. Do your research into mythology and you'll find some good stuff that fits your theme better than the major figures.
